Gotta hate somebody right? When the effort is there i find it hard to hate a guy and it looks like he is at least skating hard.

I guess i dont understand the hatred towards him. He is a third liner.

no one I know pencilled this in, this is a part of the tough stretch they have been on, and they usually dont do well on this west coast swing.

Cause you could throw a dart at their roster, and the Providence roster, and I probably prefer that player over Hayes. Connolly, Belesky, Spooner, Vatrano, Ferraro, Randell, I'd rather any of them and they all make less money, save Belesky...

If you replace Hayes with a minor leaguer, you get more effort and more effectiveness. Plus save 1.7-1.2 million dollars that can be allocated to resigning Eriksson, Marchand, etc.

I used to be on the "why's everyone hating on Hayes" side.... I thought he's a role player, so it's not that big of a deal if he's not contributing consistently.

But now, I'm starting to swing to the other side like a lot of you guys... "Passenger" is a great way to describe Hayes. He puts in effort, but with very, very little impact. They're paying him far too much to have very little impact. Hopefully they can find a way out of that contract, because signing him to a 3 year deal is looking like their biggest mistake right now. Vatrano in his spot would be huge... or Randell... pretty much any other warm body.
